STAY + TRAIN
Available to clients that have completed a Pet Behavior Consultation. This service is likely equivalent to what you may have heard called a "board and train" or a "boot camp"; we choose to call it Stay + Train because it better represents this service's overall approach and atmosphere. Your dog is not boarding in a row of kennels, punctuated by bursts of intense training; instead, he or she has access to the home, family, other pets, and Real Life Rewards™ based on their level of training, comfort, and of course, safety.
When trained in this way (which is most like their environment at home), the learning is much more likely to generalize successfully back home when it’s time. Each pet is initially separated from all other pets and introduced safely, and systematically. For situations in which they’re not comfortable, we practice Safe Separation and Comfortable Confinement™ to keep all pets and people safe*.
Included with a Stay & Train are a Drop-Off Training Session after the Stay, a Training Session within 2 weeks of the stay, and regular communication with updates throughout the Stay.
The cost for a Stay & Train is dependent on the assessment following a Pet Behavior Consultation. If interested in Stay + Train, please inform us so we can prepare an estimate following the consultation. The minimum length of stay is 15 days and the average is 20 days.
*We are not a kennel, although, we will use a Safe Separation and Comfortable Confinement™ approach taking advantage of tools like crates, tethers, and other safety barriers to ensure all pets are safe and comfortable.
